Are You Too Old To Irish Dance? Never! by Kathy Nelson TCRG – Rose & Sword Academy of Irish Dance
There are opportunities for dancers to partake in performances, competitions, and a range of group and solo classes. We motivate our dancers who wish to test their skills by participating in solo or team competitions to do their personal best. Year-round performances are an opportunity for dancers to share their talents with the public. Weekly classes provide time for dancers to get one-on-one technical feedback while engaging with classmates in a fun and supportive setting. Each family is encouraged to choose the participation level that is right for them.
Many adults are interested in beginning Irish dance but they think they are too old or not coordinated enough. I have found this type of dance to be extremely athletic in nature. It truly is a great form of exercise!
No previous dance experience necessary! We start each class with a cardio warmup and review the foundations of Irish dance before progressing to more advanced steps appropriate for each dancer. Both solo dancing and socially distanct ceili dancing will be performed. We're open to new faces year round, so new students are welcome any time.
